At our Innovation Centre we always begin with the same question: which decision will this device let the veterinarian make faster and more accurately? For the past 12 years we have shaped our R&D around that question.
🧠 AI-Assisted Diagnostics
Assessing cell morphology on a blood smear takes time and experience. Our InSight VET AI-Morphology analyser classifies cells automatically to give the clinician a first pass — it flags areas of interest and leaves the final call to the vet.
We carried the same approach into imaging: on our DX-V1, DX-VF1 and DX-VM Plus digital radiography systems, AI-assisted image processing produces a more readable image at a lower dose.
🧪 Microfluidic Molecular Diagnostics
Conventional PCR requires laboratory infrastructure and trained staff. Our mFIND platform uses isothermal amplification on a microfluidic chip to bring pathogen detection inside the clinic — with no need to send samples to a central laboratory.
Our qFLASH quantitative fluorescent test strip system completes biomarker measurement within minutes.
⚡ Biophysical Therapy: Cold Plasma
With PetCellPen® and EquCellPen® we brought cold atmospheric plasma into veterinary practice. Drug-free and applied directly to tissue, this technology supports cellular regeneration and offers a new treatment option in wound healing and dermatological applications.
🔭 The New Idea We Are Working On
What we are working on right now is the problem of fragmented clinical data: the blood count sits on one device, the radiograph on another screen, and the patient history in a separate piece of software.
Our aim is to bring ELCOM devices together on a shared data layer. A patient's laboratory result, image and follow-up data would then live in a single record, letting the clinician see the whole patient instead of walking from device to device. Our collaboration with the Kolayvet clinic management software is the first step in that direction.
🤝 Together With Academia
We carry out our R&D alongside university veterinary faculties and research laboratories. We know that an algorithm developed without field data means little in the clinic.
We are open to working with researchers and institutions who would like to develop joint projects.
